I appreciate you posting this video. I might not have seen it otherwise, not having cable at my house. I love the exposure that Bishop Wright seems to get among the media both here and across the pond. It is certainly a breath of fresh air to see someone with such commitment to the Scriptures (in the sense of recognizing the place under rather than over Scripture), rigorous scholarship, combined with wit and clarity being interviewed, as opposed to only giving voice to people like John Dominic Crossan or Elaine Pagels, which seems to be all too common.

My only disappointment with the interview is that Colbert barely lets Tom get a word in edgewise. Every time Tom would begin to explain his book (the whole reason for him being brought onto the show) he was cut off after about 5 seconds by a joke from Colbert. Luckily, Bishop Wright is a great communicator, being succinct, articulate, and witty in his words (and all from a man who lives in a castle! Ha!). Sadly, this is a far too rare ability with most theologians. I fear that if it had any other theologian they would have simply been run over by Colbert.

Thanks again for the post! I appreciate it!

Eric
